Club Policies

Every year, Marple Rugby Club publishes a handbook for the season. For season 2011-12 the handbook can be found here. It contains our Child Welfare policy, our Child Welfare Statement, the Coaches Code of Conduct, details of our insurance policy, information on what equipment players need and our Charter of Fair Play. Contact details for the coaches, team administrators and club committee can also be found in the handbook as well as on this website.

Hosting

While the club commits to training junior members in the fantastic game of rugby, occasionally we ask the parents of our junior players to contribute something back to the club. Every Sunday we need parents from one team to assist in the kitchens, the car park and in the changing rooms. We call this "hosting" and the rota for each team is published on the fixture list. When it is your team's turn to host, the team administrator may contact you to ask for help. The rota is organised so that no team hosts more than four times during a season and wherever possible we have arranged it so that hosting takes place during days when training rather than matches are booked.

During hosting we generally need 3-4 people in the kitchen and clubhouse to deal with preparing and serving food. We need 2-3 people to manage the car parking and we need 2-3 male helpers to mop, sweep and tidy the changing rooms. If your team's adminstrator asks for your help please do what you can to assist. Other teams will do it for you and the club considers it only fair that you help when you can.
