The players in the U6 age group learn tag rugby. Tag rugby is non-contact and is played between teams of five and seven players, though both teams must have equal numbers. It is designed to introduce young players to the basic concepts of rugby without the contact which occurs in later stages of the game.
The RFU will cover U6 players for insurance purposes, but they must be in year 1 at school. Under no circumstances can we take Reception children. The U6 game is training only as the competitive RFU continuum does not start until the U7 age group.
