Thanks to everyone – over 20 of you who braved the gale and sleet on Sunday! Under 7s had a great match, with some excellent tries from Matty Thomas (sheer pace) and George Bailey (sheer elusiveness). Final score 5 :4 to us??? Under 8s also had a good match before it was abandoned, my unbiased spy, Louis, tells me we easily scored more tries than them. Well done, both teams.

The U7s played on Macclesfield’s lush astro-turf while the U8s slogged it out in a boggy marsh nearby. However, both teams put in great performances and – most importantly – kept giving it everything until the final whistle.

Well done to Nathan for winning the U8 Player of the Week and Matthew for claiming the U7 Player of the Week. Looking forward to hosting Macc at home this Sunday.

The under sevens today put on an awsome performance against a strong and well drilled visiting Stockport team. The Marple Massive though defended like their christmas presents depended on it and although Stockport sneeked in for a few tries they were no match for the games man of the match Matty, who knows what he had for breakfast but I shall be getting the recipe as he ran in an amazing six tries, the rest of the team rallied with some fatastic defending  support play and even more tries.

I promise for the next game I shall be far more organised and make a note of all the scorers. But if there are any parents out there on the touch line who fancy themselves as a budding reporter and take notes of the game please let me know.
